Bio

Katrina Rasmussen is an artist and art educator from East Dallas. Rasmussen favors a layered approach to her paintings, using a variety of media to add depth and personality to her subjects. Her favored materials are Venetian Plaster and oil paint, which create an interplay of texture and vivid color that is the trademark of Rasmussen’s style.

Rasmussen’s current body of work explores the unique landscapes of Central and West Texas through the lens of stewardship and community. Most recently, Rasmussen has begun incorporating ceramics and sculptural forms into her artistic practice.

In addition to mixed media landscapes, Rasmussen specializes in architectural paintings, urban landmarks, and abstracts that draw upon her love of the natural world.

Rasmussen’s work is available at Kettle Art Gallery in Deep Ellum, and at the Gallery at Art on Main in East Dallas. Rasmussen belongs to the art studios at Art on Main, where she participates in quarterly Open Studios. See Rasmussen’s newest works this September and October, in collaboration with artist Corey Godfrey at the Gallery at Art on Main!

Past shows include Art 214 (Dallas, 2024), Chromatic Journeys (Dallas, 2024), Milagros, Visions of the Desert (Waco, 2022), Art 214 (2021), and Chimera (Dallas, 2019), and Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum (2018).
